The following is a story written by a boy who has a fascination with midgets...
I woke up with a start. When I opened my eyes I saw a midget. I always wanted one. I tried to catch it but it ran away from me. I ran after it, and I finally caught it and put it in a jar. I called some friends to come over and see him. I tried to talk to him but he wouldn't talk to me. I guess he was nervous. When my friends came over we took him out and played with him. One of my friends asked to borrow him but I said "no way", and someone else else asked if they could buy him off of me for $150 dollars. He was my prize possesion. My parents said I had to let him go but I was so attached to him that I couldn't. I told my parents I did but they didn't believe me because I was lying and they knew it. I finally started thinking about how mean it was to keep a midget in a jar so I let him out of the jar in my backyard and while he was skipping away with his short self I started crying. He stopped and looked at me and tilted his head and gave me a sad look. I told him to go and play with all the other midgets and he did. My parents were happy with me so I felt good but hopefully I will see another one someday.
